Siemens MD-BMED Model Power Meters are BACnet MS/TP, Modbus RTU and Ethernet (BACnet IP, Modbus TCP) capable submetering devices designed to provide real time, accurate electricity metering to enable proper control over energy costs. The meter can capture kWh/kW energy and demand data, as well as virtually all relevant energy parameters for diagnostics and monitoring on three-phase or single-phase circuit installations. The meters’ flexibility, size, and ease-of-use make them ideal tools for gathering detailed consumption information in commercial, industrial, governmental, and retail environments.The meters use direct connections to each phase of the voltage and three 100-Amp hinged split-core CTs to monitor current on each phase. All of Siemens' current transformers are internally shunted for intrinsically safe operation on energized conductors.The power meters make over 75 total electrical measurements which are derived from the voltage and current inputs. Electrical load diagnostic parameters such as power factor and line frequency are captured in addition to energy and demand values. An integrated backlit display aids startup verification.

Description

Siemens MD series Power Meters are electrical submetering devices designed to provide real time, accurate electricity metering to enable monitoring and control over energy costs. They are compatible with most BMS systems as each meter supports both BACnet and Modbus protocols. This high quality “Revenue Grade” meter can capture kWh/kW energy and demand data, as well as many other relevant energy parameters and provide the data to a building automation system or other controller. They are ideal for highly accurate energy or demand metering, tenant submetering, data center metering and building load surveys. These submetering solutions help to achieve LEED v4 certification objectives and can be applied with a BAS to meet ASHRAE 90.1-2016 submetering requirements.
