180F M/R Rollout Switch [SWT3987] Trane The SWT3987 is a 180F M/R Rollout Switch manufactured by Trane. This switch is designed to protect your HVAC system from overheating by shutting off the system if the temperature rises too high. The SWT3987 is a reliable and durable switch that is easy to install and maintain. This Trane rollout switch is commonly used in commercial and industrial HVAC systems. It is a single-pole, double-throw switch with a normally closed (NC) contact and a normally open (NO) contact. The switch is actuated by a bimetallic coil that expands or contracts with changes in temperature. When the temperature rises to a predetermined set point, the bimetallic coil trips the switch, opening the NC contact and closing the NO contact.
