The Packard TQS2 Hardstart Kit is designed to provide additional starting torque for 3.5 to 5-ton air conditioners. This kit is ideal for use in applications where the air conditioner is located far from the electrical panel, or where the wiring is undersized. The TQS2 features a heavy-duty capacitor that provides the extra power needed to start the compressor, and a contactor that isolates the capacitor from the line voltage when the compressor is running. This helps to extend the life of the capacitor and contactor. The TQS2 is easy to install and comes with all the necessary hardware.
