Armstrong International 883CV-3/4-30 IB Trap with Check Valve The Armstrong International 883CV-3/4-30 is a 3/4" 30# Inverted Bucket (IB) trap with a built-in check valve. It is designed to remove condensate from steam systems, preventing water hammer and ensuring efficient operation. The IB trap operates on the principle of buoyancy. When condensate enters the trap, it fills the bucket and causes it to sink. This opens the valve, allowing the condensate to discharge. Once the condensate level drops, the bucket floats back up, closing the valve and preventing steam from escaping. The built-in check valve prevents condensate from flowing back into the steam system when the trap is closed. This ensures that the trap operates efficiently and prevents water hammer. The 883CV-3/4-30 is constructed of cast iron and is suitable for use with steam pressures up to 30 psi. It has a maximum capacity of 30,000 lbs/hr.
